Baseball New Brunswick has an immediate opening for a motivated, results focused leader for the position of Executive Director.

About Baseball New Brunswick

-Baseball New Brunswick is the governing body for the sport of baseball union in the Province of New Brunswick. Baseball New Brunswick strives to provide competition for all levels of baseball pathways, from introduction to the sport through to high performance, elite athletes. Baseball New Brunswick has a current membership of 700 senior athletes and over 4,100 youth. We are striving to grow the game through open and inclusive provincial camps, regional and urban events such as “Pitch, Hit & Learn” and “My First Pitch” programs.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications include a minimum of three years of demonstrated leadership experience, including board engagement, fundraising, staff and volunteer development. Applicants must have program management experience including budget management. Preference will be given to candidates whom have a bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Marketing or a relevant discipline and must have at least 3 years related experience. Candidates should be bilingual (English and French) or willing to be proficient in both official languages immediately.

2018 Hall of Fame

The 2018 Baseball NB Hall of Fame Ceremony and Awards Banquet will be held at the Delta Fredericton on Saturday October 6th with a meet and greet starting at 6:00pm and presentation ceremonies commencing at 7:00pm. The 2018 inductees are the 1978-1981 St. Stephen Sabres (Team), George Allan Lewis (Builder), Gerry Leblanc (Builder) and Derek Wilson (Player); Prior to Hall of Fame inductions, Baseball NB will present their annual awards for the 2018 season. Gerry Leblanc (Builder)

Gerry has been involved in; coaching, scouting, teaching, developing, consulting and above all, mentoring baseball communities within our province, country and even internationally while in Japan as a guest coach with the World Children’s Baseball Fair. Gerry has been part of the coaching staff for 7 Canada Games teams (1997-2017), coached in countless Canada Cup championships, and served as a guest coach with the Canadian Junior National team in 2003. He has been a NCCP Master Coach Developer in the sport of Baseball and has led a large amount of NCCP coaching clinics leading to the development of countless coaches in New Brunswick and across Canada over the past 12 years. His contributions to the game are felt throughout the province of New Brunswick and Canada.

George Allan Lewis (Builder)

  George Allan Lewis was seen as a visionary that recognized St. Stephen had all the pieces necessary to create a successful baseball program. George was the man behind the scenes of the powerhouse St. Stephen Sabres of the late 1970’s and early 80’s that brought home 4 provincial and Atlantic Championships, along with 3 National Championship medals. George made sure all the off-field duties were taken care of to allow the coaches to coach and players to play. George took part in the 1981 Canada Games as the Manager for Team NB and was able to experience a silver medal performance on the field, which is one of his proudest moments. He was able to experience the success of what he had help build over the past few years with his baseball family.

Derek Wilson (Player)

     Derek Wilson competed for 27 years in the New Brunswick Senior league, longer then any other player in the history of the leagues records. Over the course of those 27 years he established a number New Brunswick Senior League records including the following All-Time Records: Innings Pitched (1244.1); K’s (1227); Wins (122); Runs (711); 2B’s (134); Hits (772); Stolen Bases (161); Top average with 1500+ at bats (345); HR’s (124); RBI’s (494). And the following Single-Season Records: Plate Appearances (160); Runs (48); Hits (59); BB’s (31); Derek was apart of 11 Provincial Championship teams and was apart of 6 National Championship performances with 3 Bronze medals, 1 Silver Medal, 2 Gold Medals. Derek pitched in both National Gold medal games in 2001 and 2006.

From 1978 to 1982 the Stephen Sabres established their legacy by winning 4 Provincial Championships, 3 Atlantic Championships, 2 Bronze and 1 Silver at National Championships and a Silver medal at the 1981 Canada Games.
